I'm 23 and married a man 22 years older than me – I dated hot guys but I’m glad I lost my virginity to an older man

GROWING up, Sav Kepler never really clicked with the guys she was dating.

Despite going out with some of the hottest boys in her high school, the teen didn't feel any real attraction and thought she may even be asexual.

Describing how she'd always shut the guys down when they tried to be intimate, the 23-year-old, from New Zealand, said: "Something about it just didn't work for me. I remember thinking maybe I'm asexual because I knew I wasn't a lesbian.

"It terrified me – I was scared I would never find love and I was going to go to counselling for intimacy problems."

However, that all changed when she came across her future husband Mark's Tinder profile five years ago.

She continued: "Just as I left high school at 18 years old I met Mark, 45, on Tinder and realised I just hadn't found the right person."

For the next six months, the couple chatted regularly and couldn't deny their chemistry when they finally met up – despite their 22-year-age gap.

"The first time we met we just chatted and then the next time we hooked up and I didn't feel resistant at all. I thought 'this guy is amazing, I really like him'.

"I was so relieved to lose my virginity and thought thank god, I can go and live my life now but this guy works really well – it's cool that I fell in love with the person that took my virginity."

After two years of dating, the couple moved in together in mid-2019 before tying the knot earlier this year.

Although people online find their age gap strange, Sav and Mark often forget two decades separate them – insisting that "love is love".

Sav said: "It feels completely right but it has been so much of a learning curve for me as my first relationship.

"And for both of us – I'm the first girl Mark has lived with so we've both had to learn a lot together.

"Even though there's an age gap we're still learning the ropes of a serious, long term relationship together."

Over the past few years, the couple have shared snippets of their lives online in a bid to "normalise" age-gap relationship – but been branded "disgusting" by cruel trolls.

Hitting back at critics, Sav said: "There are a lot of people on TikTok who are appalled by it and think it's disgusting.

"They say wait until he replaces you with someone who's 18 again but I'm ten times hotter and younger than him so I'll replace him if I need to.

"To me it's just like any other relationship and I don't understand why people are negative about it.

"He has more life experience than me which helps me get a better life and he's learning how to be young and vibrant as well, it's a win-win."
