08/01/2023WHEN her weight skyrocketed to nearly 60 stone, Amanda Register knew something had to change.
Now she's shed 35 stone, looks completely unrecognisable and wants to help others do the same.
Amanda starred on the US reality series My 3000lb Family, and wore clothes in a size 8XL at time time.
She was determined to lose the weight because so she could get the lifesaving surgery for her endometrial cancer, which she was battling at the time of the TLC show.
"In order for me to have the surgery to remove my cancer, they invert you on the operating table, so right now if they did it, all of my weight would essentially crush my organs and I would stop breathing until it killed me," Amanda explained on the show.
After sticking to a strict diet and exercise regime Amanda had bariatric surgery followed by another procedure to get rid of her excess skin.

Since loosing the weight, Amanda has been sharing her journey on social media in a bid to inspire others.
In one clip she held up her old 8XL jeans next to her new size medium ones.
"This message is really for people who feel overwhelmed by the amount of weight you have to lose.
"That's why I share my storey of losing 500lbs," she said.

"My new jeans fit in one of the legs of the old jeans, so that's just to give you a perspective of how much weight I've been able to lose," she continued
In another viral clip, Amanda shared some pictures of her at her biggest followed by some more recent snaps.
"You're my hero, such an inspiration," one person commented.
A second agreed: "It's amazing you don't even look like the same person, it's beautiful how far you've come."
"All of your hard work has paid off, good for you," another wrote.
Amanda even completed her first 5km not long ago, and told her followers on Instagram to "keep showing up."
