ONE woman was left shocked and disappointed after getting a new tattoo when it ended up not at all looking like the reference pictures she sent.

Posting to TikTok Staesha has been posting regular updates on her tattoo now that she’s begun laser removal surgery.

Telling the story about her tattoo, Staesha says that the tattoo artist just “kinda did whatever the heck he wanted on my arm.”

She then shows some examples similar to the reference pictures she had sent ahead of her appointment, adding that she wanted her new tat to go from her shoulder to just above one she already had.

“I sent him a lot of pictures of the different types of tropical leaves I really wanted incorporated in there,” says Staesha, adding that the artist did not include any of these leaves that she had actually asked for.

Despite sending reference pictures two weeks prior, when she arrived at the appointment Staesha says that the artist had not drawn anything up, didn’t remember what she actually wanted, and said he was just going to freehand it.

“When I got there he took two and a half hours to set up,” she adds, “I don’t know what the heck he was doing, he did not spend the whole time drawing up a tattoo because he ended up freehanding.”

In hindsight, Staesha says that this is a bit of a red flag and that perhaps she should have left, but that this is rather difficult to do in this situation.

Starting the tattoo the artist told her to trust the process, which Staesha listened to seeing as he’s a professional and you’d think he would know what he was doing.

The tattoo she ended up with was much larger than she originally wanted – and had far more shading than she had requested.

One TikToker user commented on the video saying if this happened to them they’d have cried, to which Staesha responded: “I did. For like a whole year.”

Since getting this tattoo, Staesha has begun laser removal surgery, although she says it may take up to two years for it to be fully gone.
