GETTING a tattoo is a permanent dedication to something you love.

For teenager Liberty however, the worst thing possible happened, as the tattooist misspelt her tattoo.

Posting on Tiktok, the 19-year-old, shared her botched tattoo experience to her 180.2k followers.

She showed snaps of her original design, her with the fresh ink, a clearer picture of the full misspelt tattoo and then the huge cover up of a rose she got on her shoulder.

Over the video she wrote: "What I asked for & what I got & then the coverup."

She also explained the issue, saying: "Phillipians was spelt Phillippians on my tattoo."

She later corrected herself, saying: "Omg I meant to say that vise versa lol on my tattoo it was spelt phillipians it’s supposed to be philippians."

The tattoo she designed referenced the Bible verse from Philippians 4.6 which says: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

As for the huge rose cover-up tattoo, Liberty explained that the tattooist: "Covered it for free and plans on redoing it for free."

Commenters reassured her and offered solutions to her botched tatoo, saying: "He could of just added the p and re did and I … or only cover up word …he need to pay for the removal."

"Get it again!! Just in a different place, especially since it means so much to you," another suggested.

One considered how much the original tattoo meant to Liberty as they wrote: "I guess I don't understand why be didn't just cover the verse. With there being so much meaning to it."

While another admitted: "I honestly like the flower better, rock it, girl!!!!"

One person told her to change the cover up tatoo, saying: "i think it would look fine if it didn’t have color maybe u could add some shading and white or something

In another Tiktok, which has 1.4million views, she filmed herself taking a deep breath over which she wrote "finally got the tattoo Idesigned and waited 4 years to get", which she captioned with: "permanently. on my body."

Others told her they had the same experience as one wrote: "My first tattoo has a misspelled word, my dad the only person i showed that noticed."

To which Liberty replied: "Glad i’m not the only one."

Another related to her experience, sharing: "I have a huge quote on my back with a misspelt word so I get it. The stencil was correct but he ended up having to print another one and retyped it."

While others said they would sue if they were in her situation and some even checked their own tattoos were spelt correctly.
