I took my two-year-old to daycare but they left him ALONE & didn't change his diaper, I was horrified

MOTHERS are often hesitant about leaving their babies under another person’s supervision.

Besides the separation anxiety that comes with saying bye to your little one, it’s also hard to trust that the caretaker will treat your child as well as you do.

One mother shared a horrible experience she had two years ago after leaving her then-two-year-old son at daycare.

In the clip, she began: “We moved to a new house, and we needed to find a new daycare for him.

“I found this one daycare and it hadn’t opened yet. The grand opening was like the week we needed childcare, so I was like ‘Amazing!’”

After touring the facility, she was very impressed and confident that her son would like it there.

“It was state of the art. They had cameras. It was fancy, and I thought fancy meant it must be nice and they must take really good care of the kids.”

Fast-forward to the day she dropped him off at the daycare:

She had dressed her son in Thomas The Train pull-up diapers that morning, but had given the teachers a box of Paw Patrol diapers for changes throughout the day.

“So, I go to watch the cameras and I see my son lingering around the door.

“And the teacher opens the door—mind you he’s two, not potty trained, nowhere close to it, they know that, I’ve communicated that to them—and she puts him into the bathroom, doesn’t turn the light on, and closes the door.

“And I’m watching this on the camera and I’m like, ‘What is going on? Why is he in the bathroom by himself?’ So, I start panicking.”

After about five minutes, she called the daycare.

“He could like, drown in the toilet, I don’t know.”

When she told the director on the phone what she saw, he said he would go to the classroom to check in on the situation.

“So, I see him on the camera walk into the room and ask the teacher something. And the teacher goes to the bathroom door where my son was and opens the door.

“And my son was just standing at the door with the saddest look on his face and I was watching this on the camera, and I got a really bad feeling.”

She also added that her son was in a classroom with six and seven-year-olds—all a lot older than he was—and wondered if, because it was opening day at the school, perhaps they didn’t have enough teachers or students to divide the kids up properly.

“So, I was already kind of put off by that.”

Perhaps the worst realization, however, came when she picked her son up at the end of the day.  

“To top it all off, when I got him home that night, he still had on his Thomas The Train diaper. They had never changed his diaper.

“I was literally in tears. My husband had to go to the school the next day and we got a full refund.”

Viewers were horrified at the story and feared the same would happen to their children:

“I told my husband I’ll quit my job before our son goes to daycare. Absolutely not. Way too many horror stories,” one wrote.

“I don’t understand why anyone would want to work at a daycare if they don’t like kids??? Like huh??” another added.

“I used to work in daycare before I had my son and because of that I will NEVER put my children in daycare. Way too many shady things being hidden,” chimed a third.

Others, however, said they had luckily experienced the opposite kind of treatment:  

“WHAT?!? I work at a daycare & my boss marks the kids out as they leave, checks the rooms again, etc. That’s just straight carelessness,” one wrote.

“I used to work at a daycare, and I loved all the littles as if they were my own,” added another.

And finally, one person applauded the mom for her being proactive: “That momma intuition probably saved your son. I’m so sorry you went through that.”
