HIDING the Easter eggs from your kids before the bank holiday can be a struggle.

But one mum who thought she had found the best hiding spot for them was left terrified when she saw what happened to them.

Brittanie, from the US, bought her kids two adorable milk chocolate Easter eggs in the shape of bunnies.

To make sure her children didn't find them before Sunday, she had a brainwave to hide them in the boot of her car.

But her bright idea ended up being a total fail.

Failing to consider how hot a car gets, the Easter eggs melted and caused a terrifying scene.

Posting to her TikTok account @itsbritsbish the mum warned: "Don't hide the Easter candy in the trunk."

Brittanie took her Target bags inside and unveiled the once cute Easter bunnies.

Now, the bunnies had become distorted from melting.

One of the bunny's ears were no longer cute and bouncy, instead, they were stretched out and longer than the bunny itself creating a horrifying look more suited for Halloween than Easter.

The other bunny had completely melted into a block of chocolate, with only two pairs of eyes and a rainbow bow to mark the bunny was even there in the first place.

The mum, horrified by her fail wrote 'Whooops,' in the caption of the post.

To top it off, she revealed that she bough the eggs the day before Easter, meaning there was little chance of replacing them before her kids woke up on Easter Sunday.

The video has since gone viral with over 1.4million views and over 120k likes.

People quickly took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Many found the whole ordeal hilarious, while others were terrified by how the bunnies looked.

One person wrote: "Easter just turned into a Vincent Price movie."

Another commented: "If it's any consolation you've made my Easter, I'm laughing so hard rn."

"they look like they went bar hoping," penned a third.
