I met my soulmate at work – we moved in together after one day, our life is like a movie | The Sun

A SCOTS singer has told how she moved in with her boyfriend one day after they started dating – as they met while working on a cruise ship together.

Georgia Fordyce, 26, met Argentinian guitarist Agustin Fares, 35, during their time at sea and enjoyed a whirlwind romance.

After three weeks of courtship, she returned home to Elgin, Moray, and he started another ship contract in the US.

They've already agreed that when his term ends in four months, Agustin is moving straight to Scotland to start a new life with Georgia.

Although it's been intense, she is confident they're making the right decision.

She says: "He’s coming to visit for a month and then we will both go to Argentina for a couple months to see his family.

"Our plan after that is to work together on cruise ships then we will decide whether to live in either Argentina or Scotland in our time off.

"It really has been like a movie but I guess when you know, you know.

"You basically 'move in' together immediately on a ship and then when the ship is docked you can spend time together in the ports, or go to the restaurants on the ship.

"It's very hard to keep things private. Thankfully we didn’t care about people knowing.

"Thankfully both our families were very supportive because they could see how serious and in love we were.

"Some people on the ship didn’t think it would work because things can be very fleeting in ship romances but we knew it was the real deal."

Georgia adds: "Flings or short lived things are common because there’s such a mix of nationalities and it’s the nature of working short contracts, then onto the next. There’s ways to make things work, if you want to of course

"After three weeks we  made it official at the end, before he left the ship. We decided to be in a relationship and make it work

"We knew it was a special connection. And it just kept getting stronger, even over FaceTime.

"When I went to visit the ship we discussed everything – where we might live, marriage and future family.

"We both feel so sure about each other and don’t think it will be very long before the next steps are on the cards."
