A WOMAN has revealed that she gave her boring kitchen an epic makeover on the cheap and while it looks fabulous, it’s really divided opinions. 

The DIY fan explained that she used bargain buys from B&M to give her tired kitchen a total transformation, without splashing too much cash. 

Took to TikTok, where she posts under the username @mkedaaa, the social media user demonstrated how she did her kitchen’s overhaul. 

She shared her clip with the caption ‘I FINALLY DID IT! No more “ignore my sides”’ and explained: “Watch me give my kitchen a very well needed makeover.”

At the start of the video, the woman shared what her kitchen looked like before she got to work – it was very dated and in need of some TLC.

I couldn’t afford a new patio so gave my tired slabs a glow up on the cheap

We were quoted £1k for our garden upgrade so we did it using cheap Tesco & B&Q buys

“I already wrapped it once as soon as I moved here.

“So I got the tiles from B&M, as well as the vinyl wrap and obviously the sealant.

“I just started off by taking the bits off [old vinyl wrap].

“I know it looks quite easy, but this was probably the hardest part, that stuff was stuck.

“I went wrong the first time, I didn't put sealant on it, so, you know, when the water gets trapped under stuff like this, it does get a bit mouldy.

“I just put some bleach on it and left overnight. 

“I finished at 05:14 in the morning, and started around 10pm.

“I just took a toothbrush and cleaned all around the sealant the next day.

“And trust me, when I moved in here, the sealant was already stained yellow.

“Anyway, I'll never be doing this process again because it was very tedious, very long and annoying.

“Anyway, that was my vinyl laid, then I went on to changing the backsplash.

“Added some fake white tiles, this part, I'm saying everything is hard, but this part was hard.

“Honestly, honestly, I will never do this again, unless my next kitchen is more straightforward, but this is the last time in this house.

“I ain't got no hand eye coordination, so yeah, not everything is straight, but that's okay, because who wants to be a perfectionist, not me, too much brain power needs to be used.

“It's also very uneven, but we move and here is the end result.”

The DIY fan proudly showed off the finished result – with the kitchen countertops transformed with marble-look vinyl wrapping and the white tile stickers giving the space a modern, chic feel. 

The woman later explained that she has so far spent £90 on her kitchen’s epic makeover.

The DIY clip has clearly left many impressed as it has quickly amassed a whopping 640,400 views.

It has 34.6k likes, 445 comments, 2,128 saves and 376 shares. 

Many were left open-mouthed at the epic makeover and were eager to express this in the comments. 

One person said: “Nah this is sick!!!!! Well done.” 

Another added: “Looks gorgeous.”

A third commented: “Beautiful.

However, others thought that it was too much effort and many flagged concerns of using such stick-on tiles.

One user noted: “I would of just painted the tiles.”

A second claimed: “Apparently the stick on tiles are not heat proof. Just check peeps.”
