Foodie shares quick and easy way to make McDonald's hash browns dupes at home – they're cheaper and even tastier | The Sun

THEY'RE one of the most ordered items on McDonald's menu.

But the hash browns don't come in cheap, as they cost a pricey £1.49 each.

However, one foodie has shared a quick and easy to make your own version at home – and it will save you some cash too.

Firstly, peel your potatoes, put them in some boiling water and let them sit for 10 minutes, Ben explained in a video on his TikTok page.

Once they've sat, strain off the water and grate the potatoes "nice and fine".

At this point, the potatoes will be full of water, so you need to squeeze all that moisture out.

I eat cookie dough every night, even while getting lean – my recipe is the best

Put the grated potatoes in a tea towel over a bowl, and squeeze until they're as dry as possible.

Then add in some cornstarch, one egg, and season to taste.

Mix it all together, and lay it on a baking tray – making it into whatever shape you like.

Pop the tray into the freezer for an hour or two.
