Check Out the Air Jordan 1 in "University Blue"

The Air Jordan 1 has become Jordan Brand‘s pièce de résistance over the last few years, and that momentum appears as if it’ll roll right along in 2021 thanks to models like the “University Blue.” Blending classic colorblocking, an eponymous shade of blue that seemingly pulls from Michael Jordan‘s collegiate days with the UNC Tar Heels and an alternate material construction, the “University Blue” supplies an appealing blend of fresh and familiar.

Although the hues differ of course, the “University Blue” upper features an Air Jordan 1 “Chicago”-style colorblocking setup. Light sky blue appears on mudguards, eyestays, collar flaps and heel pieces, all atop a crisp white on toeboxes, quarters and throats. Black is the final color of the trifecta, gracing Swooshes, laces and collars alike. As mentioned above, the material construction is notable: each “University Blue” piece uses a supple suede, a vast divergence from the AJ1’s standard full leather construction. A black ball-and-wings logo on the collar flap and a blue Nike Air hit on the tongue tag add further branded flair, and the look is completed by a white midsole and “University Blue” outsole.

An official release date for the Air Jordan 1 “University Blue” has yet to be announced, but early reports have it pegged for a 2021 arrival — February 20, to be exact. The MSRP will likely be set at $170 USD.
