MOST of us have dated someone different to our usual 'type on paper' – celebs included.

This week Jackass star Steve-O opened up about his split from Stacey Solomon, after he moved to the UK to be with her.

The American stunt performer admitted he ghosted the Loose Women presenter in 2015, something he now regrets, in what was one of the most unlikely showbiz romances ever.

It came as a shock to some fans, who had no idea – or had completely forgot – they had a six-month romance in the first place.

Here we reveal other celebs couples that you completely forgot ever dated.

Essex comic Russell Brand has been linked to various celebs over the years, but one standout was Spice Girl Geri Horner – then Halliwell.

The pair hooked up after the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony, described by Geri, then 40, as "a whirlwind".

But their affair reportedly only lasted 13 days, despite the singer taking Russell house-hunting.

A source told The Mirror: “Geri was smitten but things have petered out a tad. He isn’t ready to settle down so soon after coming out of marriage, whereas Geri is probably more ready to have a relationship.

Meanwhile Russell, then 37, joked about their fling during a comedy set, saying: “Look, give me a year and I’ll turn it into good material for you.” Ouch.

Stephanie Davis and Zayn Malik

One Direction star Zayn Malik, 29, had just shot to stardom on The X Factor when he started dating Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis in 2011.

But their romance lasted just five months, with Stephanie, 29, claiming she ended things when she found out he was meeting up with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.

Opening up about their tryst on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, she said: “I went to Leeds to meet him and I went to his hotel room and we were just messing around.

“But I thought I’m not that girl to sleep with you straight away, so I just ended up kissing him. When I left, he was like, grrr. He just wanted us.”

It's believed they remained on good terms after their break-up.

Britney Spears and Colin Farrell

Back in 2003, Britney Spears, 40, had a brief fling with then up-and-coming Irish actor Colin Farrell.

The duo took the world by storm as they attended the premiere of The Recruit together, walking hand-in-hand down the red carpet.

Despite the PDA, Colin, 46, insisted Britney was “just a mate” and they were “having a laugh”.

However, the pop icon apparently did not see the funny side when Colin sent her a T-shirt with the words “I slept with Colin Farrell and all I got was this lousy T-shirt” emblazoned on the front – and the pair no longer talk.

Helen Mirren and Liam Neeson

Dame Helen Mirren, 77, met Northern Irish charmer Liam Neeson, 70, while they worked together on the 1981 film Excalibur.

The pair fell in love and even lived together for four years.

Reminiscing about their past romance on The Graham Norton Show in 2018, Dame Helen said: “We didn’t just date, we lived together for four years. We were a serious item for a while. Lucky me!”

Liam added: “Before I met her and we worked together, I had read somewhere that if she fancied a guy she would imitate his walk behind his back. And I turned around one day and she was doing that to me.”

The couple split after nearly five years – with Helen, then the more successful actor, getting a "sense from Liam that it was time for him to come out from under my wing".

She added that he handled the break-up "with elegance and grace" but it was difficult to let go because they "loved each other".

Mila Kunis and Macaulay Culkin

Hollywood stunner Mila Kunis and Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin were together for nine years between 2002 and 2011.

They met when she was 18 and he was 21, with Mila explaining in 2009: “We grew up together. You find a steady rock in your life, and that’s all you need. We have our ups and downs but work through them.”

After their split, Mila admitted on Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert that her behaviour during the break-up was “terrible”.

She hinted distance played a role, as did his fame, telling Howard Stern in 2016: "He was huge. You couldn't walk down the street with him."

Mila is now married to heartthrob Ashton Kutcher, with whom she has two children, while Macaulay is in a long-term relationship with Changeland co-star Brenda Song, and they share two kids.

Michael Sheen and Rachel McAdams

Sometimes on-set romances can really take you by surprise.

Rachel McAdams, 43, star of cult classics Mean Girls and The Notebook, met Welsh actor and producer Michael Sheen while filming Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris.

They confirmed their relationship on the red carpet at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and for a time never spent more than three weeks apart.

Rachel said: “We rack up a lot of air miles – but you have to be quite adaptable in this business whether you’re in a relationship or not.”

The pair split in 2013, reportedly because Rachel wanted to settle down and start a family while Michael, 10 years her senior, had already been married, had a child and wanted to focus on his career.

Tom Cruise and Cher

This unlikely couple started a whirlwind romance in 1987 when Tom Cruise was just starting out in his career, while Cher was at the peak of hers.

They first met at Madonna and Sean Penn’s wedding in Malibu in 1985 and then struck up a relationship when they met again at the White House a couple of years later.

In a segment called “Truth or Cher” on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Cher revealed she once dated the Top Gun actor, adding that he was in her “top five” lovers.

She said: “It’s not a long list, just a good list. It could have been a great big romance, because I was crazy for him.”

It is not clear why the pair broke up, but Cher still counts Tom, who is 16 years younger than her, a friend.

Madonna and Tupac

Madonna, 64, made waves when she revealed in 2015 that she had dated rapper Tupac Shakur before his untimely death in 1996.

She told Howard Stern: “I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and, the thing is, he got me all riled up on life in general.”

The pair reportedly dated between 1993 and 1995, and in a love letter written by the tragic icon, Tupac admitted he ended things because she was white and he was worried it would damage his “image”.

The letter read: “For you to be seen with a black man wouldn’t in any way jeopardise your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting.

“But for me, at least in my previous perception I felt due to my ‘image’, I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was.”

Robbie Williams and Cameron Diaz

Former Take That frontman Robbie Williams, 48, managed to work his charm on Hollywood honey Cameron Diaz, 50, in 2003, when the pair were spotted getting cosy in Santa Monica.

While their own romance was short-lived, the pair remained friends and she even saved his relationship with now-wife Ayda Field.

Speaking on Loose Women, Ayda said: “A few months into our relationship, we had a break-up. Well we had a couple of break-ups actually.
