Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Comfort Surfaces in Swampy "Bayou Boys" Colorway

11/06/2020

A heavily-modified take on the classic Air Jordan 1, Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Comfort has surfaced in a swampy “Bayou Boys” colorway. Inspired by Jordan Brand signee Zion Williamson and New Orleans’ famous bayous, the backcountry sneaker contains an ethos established on 2019’s Air Jordan 34 “Bayou Boys,” but switches up the colors for a fresh look.

Where most classic Air Jordan 1s — and even most prior Air Jordan 1 High Zooms — use a relatively simple mix of materials on the upper, the “Bayou Boys” adds a variety of tones and textures. Quarter panels are made of a washed gray and black textile, split by a cut-out Swoosh graphic that shows a shaggy black suede base. More black suede is present on the toebox and collar, while the throat takes on the same textile as the quarter.

This assemblage is offset by a croc-printed leather on mudguards, eyestays, collar flaps and heel pieces, done up in a rich “New Orchid” tone. Many of these pieces feature minimal stitching, and work in tandem with the exposed foam tongue and collar to give off a deconstructed style. Finishing touches are provided by a “Bayou Boys” spellout on the inner tongue, special printed insoles, sail midsoles loaded with Zoom Air cushioning and multicolor outsoles.

The Air Jordan 1 High Zoom Comfort “Bayou Boys” is available now via Nike China, and is priced at ¥1,199 (approximately $180 USD). An Air Jordan 35 “Bayou Boys” is also set to release at the end of November.

Elsewhere in the world of Nike Inc, the Air Griffey Max 1 is coming back in its OG “Freshwater” colorway.
