TV hosts absolutely lose it when kid guest tells the most inappropriate joke09/19/2023
A young jokester has left Australian TV hosts in absolute stitches after making a boundary-pushing joke live on air.
On a recent episode of breakfast programme Today, hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo were left stunned after the guest made a joke about vegans falling to their deaths.
During the segment, the young boy began by asking: ‘A vegan and a vegetarian are jumping off a cliff to see who will hit the bottom first. Who wins?’
‘I don’t know,’ Karl said. ‘Who wins?’ Sarah asked.
Not missing a beat, he smirked and replied: ‘Society!’
After spending a split second taking the joke in, the hosts gasped and looked totally taken aback as the dark nature of the joke set in.
As Sarah put her hand over her mouth in shock, Karl fell to the ground while their co-host Brooke Boney also looked startled by what she’d just heard.
One of the hosts could then be heard exclaiming: ‘We weren’t expecting that.’
In the background, the boy’s mum then said she didn’t know if he was allowed to say his joke, but Sarah pointed out: ‘Well, he just did!’
The clip soon started making the rounds on social media and was later picked up by American commentator Benny Johnson, who called it ‘the single greatest moment in television history’.
Now shared numerous times across the platform, one video of the joke is currently sitting at 12 million views and has over 900,000 likes.
Many people threw their support behind the young boy and his joke, with one fan calling him an ‘absolute legend’.
‘The hosts cannot even control their laughter. It is unexpected and delivery is amazing,’ someone else wrote.
Another added: ‘This kid just won the internet.’
Even some who were the butt of the joke chimed in, with one person saying that: ‘As a vegetarian, I laughed my arse off.’
Today airs on Channel Nine in Australia.
