Matt Hancock compared to Mr Bean by savage Gogglebox stars

Matt Hancock has been compared to Mr Bean by stars on Gogglebox, who were absolutely brutal over the former health secretary’s SAS: Who Dares Wins stint.

Hancock, 44, is back on our screens and continuing his reality TV stint after coming in third place on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

He now stars alongside the likes of Gareth Gates, Melinda Messenger and James Argent, as 16 celebrities are put through their paces in the jungle phase of SAS selection in Vietnam.

Plenty of people have been ripping apart the politician’s stint on the brutal reality show, including Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid and even the Channel 4 voiceover.

And now the Gogglebox stars have had their say – and they haven’t held back.

During Friday’s episode of the programme, the likes of Lee Riley and Pete Sandiford watched Hancock take on some of the SAS tasks, including being punched by Jermaine Pennant.

Watching Hancock wiggle his head back and forth to test his helmet for the tranaisium, sisters Amani and Amira couldn’t hold back their laughter, crying out: ‘Oh my god Matt.’

‘Could you ever imagine an SAS solider going like that?’ Pete added, mimicking Hancock wiggling his head.

‘He’s like Mr Bean!’

As the clip then showed Hancock pursing his lips looking up to the challenge, Pete jibed: ‘Why is Matt smouldering like that at the bottom?’

‘He does look like a toddler with a full nappy doesn’t he?’ Helena Worthington said, watching Hancock ‘waddle’ along the two bars, 50feet in the air.

‘Bet he’s well embarrassed,’ Pete’s little sister Sophie said, after Hancock fell off.

The TV sofa critics were just as amused watching Jermaine hit Hancock, with Sophie laughing that she ‘found it hard to believe’ the politician claiming he hadn’t been punched since he was a teenager.

‘This should be pay per view,’ Pete later joked.

This comes after Pennant spoke about how all he thought during the fight was ‘not losing’.

He added: ‘It probably doesn’t matter about the fight, then after that it was like do not lose, it probably doesn’t matter about the fight… do not (be on) the losing side because I would not be allowed to walk the streets again.

‘I was just very grateful that I won and I saved face.’

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
