Series two follows Laura Nielson (Joanne Froggatt) as she tries to figure out the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Andrew.

Andrew was revealed to have raped Laura in series one of the show and so far, she has been listed as the main suspect in his murder by police.

But, fans aren’t so convinced Laura was the one to kill Andrew and have been throwing their own theories around, as series two plays out.

Many characters have been in the frame already, including Carl Peterson (Howard Charles) and Jennifer Robertson (Jill Halfpenny) and fans had even suggested that Andrew took his own life to put Laura in the frame.

Viewers still think Laura is being set up, but now they’re pinning down the culprit to be someone else. And that someone is Laura’s sister Katy Sutcliffe (Zoe Tapper).

Monday night’s episode saw Laura and Katy’s dad in and out of hospital as his health deteriorated. He had asked Laura to end his life and while Katy had been against the idea at first, she offered to be the one to do it.

When it came to it, she couldn’t go through with it and fans later saw Laura end her dad’s life, putting a silver necklace of hers in his hand as he died.

That same silver necklace was found by police, leading to Laura being arrested again for Andrew’s murder, and fans flocked to Twitter suggesting Katy set her sister up to get revenge for Laura killing their dad.

One viewer tweeted: ‘So the sister has never forgiven laura for ‘killing’ their dad and has now framed her for andrew’s murder?’

One more suggested Katy is to blame, tweeting: ‘I’m convinced Katy killed Andrew #Liar.’

Others were taking the necklace to be the clue behind Andrew’s murder, with one viewer saying: ‘But she just gave that necklace to her dad? So unless she met someone from the story in that moment, only she or her sister did it? And seeing as Laura has already been arrested like three times, I’m convinced it’s not her.’

Fans will have to wait and see to find out how Laura’s necklace ended up in a shipping container uncovered by police.

She now faces more questioning by the police, after being arrested by DI Karen Renton (Katherine Kelly) at the end of the episode.

Liar continues Monday at 9pm on ITV.
