Jessie J's statement against getting her pre-baby body 'back' is so powerful

Jessie J continues in her quest to soak up every moment of being a new mum and to support others out there on the same journey as her.

The 35-year-old, who welcomed baby boy Sky into the world in May with her basketball player partner Chanan Safir Colman, 39, took fans along with her on every step of her much longed for pregnancy.

Since becoming a mother for the first time, she has kept on sharing pictures and musings on Instagram that show she is very much keeping it real – and is encouraging everyone else to do the same.

Most recently she has addressed the insidious ‘snap-back’ culture surrounding new mums rushing to lose the weight they gained in pregnancy to get their old ‘body back’, and she is not standing for it.

Price Tag singer Jessie took to Instagram on Tuesday to respond to the pressure, after it came up in conversations with people for her.

‘Couple of people have said to me, “I bet you can’t wait to get your body back”,’ the hitmaker began her Story, adding an eye-rolling and a shushing emoji.

‘My reply is… “I don’t want to go back. That body is gone. I want my body to go forward. I’m getting my body forward”,’ she revealed in an empowering statement.

Jessie then added: ‘That’s the vibe ladies. Embrace that bowdddddy!’

And quite frankly, we love it.

Jessie is fully in her mum era and fans are loving it, especially as she seems to be glowing despite the long hours and intense breast pumping schedule.

The new parent – real name Jessica Cornish – has also been seen out and about in recent weeks as she attended a special preview screening of new movie Barbie (after dancing around in her bathroom in a pink bra and joggers while getting ready) and put in an appearance with Chanan at Wimbledon too.

She has been honest as well with fans about loving her postpartum body, telling her 13.6 million followers to be kind to themselves, while also fully embracing it in a bikini snap just weeks after giving birth to her son.

She wrote: ‘Your body was a home for someone else to live in for 9 months.
Your organs have moved and need to find their way back to where they were before.’
