Is Meghan Markle Planning a Special Trip With Baby Archie?

05/23/2019

Since little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor came into the world on May 6, 2019, the world has been clamoring to see more of the littlest British prince. Now, it looks like Meghan might try to bring Archie to the U.S. for a visit in the coming months. If that is the case, we can expect lots more sightings and information about Archie.

According to a royal source speaking to Us Weekly, Meghan is trying to plan a trip stateside with Archie. “For Meghan, it’s just as important for Archie to learn about her family history as it is for him to learn about his royal ancestors,” the source tells Us, “so she plans to go on a trip to L.A. with him once she’s comfortable taking him on a plane.”

Meghan reportedly wants to bring Archie to L.A., where his grandmother Doria Ragland currently lives, and she wants to introduce her son to the other half of his heritage as an American. Archie may still be very much a newborn, but it’s already clear that he will be steeped in British tradition and, moreover, British royal traditions, as he grows up. It’s understandable that Meghan would want to ensure her son knew every aspect of his roots, including his American ones, despite his unique circumstances.

Meghan has been such an involved mom already, eschewing a huge staff to help in raising Archie in his first months of life and taking a minimal work schedule in order to be with him. She and Harry have also made sure Archie gets the best start possible, going the untraditional route by forgoing a royal title for him in favor of adding some normalcy to his life. It certainly feels like Meghan’s push to acquaint Archie with the American side of his family aligns with his parents’ decision to keep normalizing certain aspects of his life.

It’s unclear what needs to be approved or secured in order for Meghan to make a trip to the U.S., especially since it will likely be a personal trip rather than a state visit. Regardless, we hope she brings him to our side of the pond soon because we’d love to meet him!
