Gwyneth Paltrow’s Daughter Apple Is 16!
05/15/2020It’s hard to believe it, but Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple Martin just turned 16! To celebrate this milestone year in her little girl’s life, Paltrow shared a heartfelt tribute, including a few rare photos that prove — dare we say it? — the Apple didn’t fall far from the tree (sorry, couldn’t help ourselves). Of course, any other year the GOOP mogul probably would have thrown her daughter an epic Sweet Sixteen party. But as the famous mom tells it in her special shout-out, Apple isn’t likely to let being in quarantine keep her from seeing the bright side of her big birthday.
Paltrow took to Instagram on Thursday evening to toast her daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin. “I can’t believe I’m actually writing these words but… happy sweet sixteen my darling girl. You are the light of my heart, you are pure joy. You are wickedly intelligent and you have the best, most dry, most brilliant sense of humor,” Paltrow gushed, going on, “I have the best time being your mom. I love our nightly evening chats when I really get to hear what’s on your mind. You work hard to get whatever it is you want to achieve, and you have grit and responsibility in spades.”
Suffice it to say, Paltrow is grateful the universe found it fit to give Apple to her. “I am so damn lucky to be your mother, you beautiful, kind young woman,” she wrote. “Thank you for choosing me. I adore you to the moon and back a zillion times.”
Paltrow ended her birthday tribute by acknowledging the current coronavirus pandemic, saying, “I’m sorry you are having this particular birthday during these circumstances, but as always with you, you find the best in everything.”
In the series of three photos shared by Paltrow, her now-16-year-old strikes several poses — looking just like her mom in the process. In one of them, Apple gives a thumbs-up, revealing a turquoise cast wrapped around the digit. Paltrow didn’t offer any explanation of the injury and, TBH, Apple seems unbothered by it anyway.
In the past, Paltrow has landed in hot water with her teen by posting photos without Apple’s prior consent. But seeing as the “quaranteen” (as her mom has dubbed her in recent weeks) is smiling for the camera in the birthday tribute pics, she probably signed off on them. And we don’t blame her, because they’re stunning.
