For some reason, Rio Ferdinand was asked about Victoria Beckham's eating habits

Victoria Beckham’s diet is still a topic of conversation – yes, even in 2023 it appears.

The former Spice Girl, 48, has found herself in the public eye on numerous occasions due to her diet, especially because of THAT infamous grilled fish and steamed vegetables dish that it has been claimed she has eaten for the last 25 years.

And it seems Victoria’s eating habits are still a hot topic to some as Rio Ferdinand experienced during an awkward grilling on Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O.

The BT Sport pundit, 44, opened up on his friendship with Victoria and her footballer husband David, 47.

Host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson admitted she was ‘obsessed’ with Victoria’s diet, with Rio saying he had never seen the fashion designer eat.

‘I’ve never seen her eat anything. I don’t remember anything that sticks out of my memory, to be honest,’ Rio said.

Jackie then asked if Victoria is nice, to which Rio replied: ‘Yeah, she is nice.’

Co-host Kyle Sandilands laughed at the exchange, adding: ‘You can’t be asking a player about another soccer player’s wife!’

David has previously revealed he is not a fan of his wife’s extreme diet.

‘I get quite emotional about food and wine, when I’m eating something great I want everyone to try it,’ David said.

‘Unfortunately I’m married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years,’ the 46-year-old added on the  River Cafe Table 4 podcast. ‘Since I met Victoria, she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables, she will very rarely deviate away from there.’

But Victoria was not happy her husband called out her eating habits, insisting that she in fact does not eat the same meal day in, day out.

‘I mean, talk about making me sound boring!’ she told Vogue Australia.

‘No. What he meant is that he’s never met anyone who’s more disciplined with the way that they eat. I eat lots of healthy fat: fish, avocado, nuts, that sort of thing.’

She continued: ‘I do drink alcohol, unless I have a reason not to. I’ll detox from anything for three to six months where I won’t drink. I’m quite extreme in anything I do, whether it’s eating or working out or drinking or not drinking.’
