Attention Moms! Kate Middleton Has a Few Questions

02/18/2020

It’s not every day that a royal needs a favor from the rest of us, but today is that day! In a new video for her “5 Big Questions for the Under Fives” campaign, Kate Middleton reaches out to fans of the monarchy to help fill out her parenting survey. And while the survey is specific to the UK, anyone can appreciate Kate’s rare on-camera conversation about the importance of dialogue about creating a strong foundation for our little ones. Bonus? The behind-the-scenes video also features glimpses of her recent visits to Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England.

Taking to the official Kensington Palace Instagram feed on Tuesday, Kate spoke directly to the camera (and her followers) in the video. “Parents, families and carers are at the heart of raising the next generation, and that’s why I feel so passionate about listening to them and listening to your thoughts and your views, and how best we can support you going forward,” she began. “That’s why I’ve launched the 5 Big Questions to hear from as many people from society as possible.”

So far, the response to the campaign has been good — but Kate’s personal plea will undoubtedly inspire a spike in surveys being filled out. “I’m really pleased over 200,000 people have filled out a survey, but it’s not too late to have your say.”

As Kate explains in the caption for the video, the “5 Big Questions” campaign aims to “bring together the thoughts of as many people as possible” to affect positive change centered on the early childhood years.

We may never know precisely how well the survey performs. What we do know, though, is that fans of the royal family love Kate’s growing confidence and increased presence on the forefront. “I am looking forward to seeing the results and what the next stage of the process is,” one fan commented to Kate. “Keep up the good work, and be proud of what you do, and the happiness and comfort that you bring to others.”

Another summed it up succinctly, saying, “In all seriousness, could Kate be any more terrific? What a great job.”

This new on-camera spot comes mere days after Kate’s very first podcast aired. Over the weekend, the Duchess’ candid chat with Happy Mum, Happy Baby host Giovanna Fletcher made major waves for the royal mum’s refreshing honesty about everything from mom guilt to her favorite way to spend downtime with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
