1000Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton defies critics with new snaps after weight loss

Tammy Slaton has been showered with praise for her recent weight loss efforts, after going under the knife.

The 1000-Lb Sisters star has given TLC viewers a front-row seat into her journey to lose weight, with cameras on hand to capture the moment she learnt that she was under her ‘goal weight’ of 550lbs – and was therefore a candidate for surgery.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the 36-year-old shared a mini update with her followers, posting two close-up selfies as she posed in a pink T-shirt.

Although she offered no caption for the pictures, fans couldn’t help but commend her transformation in the comments below.

‘Tammy I was seriously one of your biggest critics. It’s been amazing seeing your consistency within your health journey,’ one wrote.

‘Soon enough you’ll be approved for skin removal and just know we are all rooting for you! Proud of you!’

A follower shared: ‘You’re doing so amazing! You proved everyone wrong and proved to yourself you can do it! Amazing job!’

‘I’m soooo soooo proud of you girl. You took back your life and you did the damn thang. Keep it up because you’re my motivation [sic],’ another agreed.

‘So proud of you, Tammy! Your confidence and inner peace shines through in this pic,’ an Instagram user wrote.

As a commenter added: ‘You are so prettifull Mrs Tammy. Congratulations on your weight loss journey, and getting married.

‘Happiness & love look pretty damn good on you. Keep it up [sic].’

Tammy previously weighed 717lbs at her heaviest, but checked into a food rehab center and remained focused towards her goals.

Her hard work paid off last year when she was informed that she was able to undergo an operation.

‘When I got on the scale and I saw the scale was at 534.7, I kind of stopped breathing for a second,’ she told the camera after the appointment. ‘I’m like 14lbs under my goal weight. From over 700, that’s a huge drop.

‘I did that! I’m feeling thrilled, proud, excited – just all the emotions.

‘I proved everybody wrong. Everybody that doubted me, I finally got my told-you-so moment!’
