Who Is Willow Smith's Boyfriend, Tyler Cole?

Though Willow Smith has been open about expressing herself and her views on various topics on Red Table Talk, the 19-year-old has kept her private life out of the spotlight.

While there has been speculation about her bother, Jaden Smith, being tied to everyone from Sophie Richie to Tyler the Creator, the “Whip My Hair” singer hasn’t made the headlines for her dating life.

Now, amid a new Red Table Talk on voting, it seems that Smith is finally debuting her romance with musician, Tyler Cole.

Willow Smith has been open about her sexuality

Smith has always been open and honest about her sexuality. While the musician is attracted to all genders, she says that the connection that she looks for is emotional over physical.

“I love men and women equally and so I would definitely want one man, one woman,” she explained on Red Table Talk. “I feel like I could be polyfidelitous with those two people. I’m not the kind of person that is constantly looking for new sexual experiences. I focus a lot on the emotional connection and I feel like if I were to find two people of the different genders that I really connected with and we had a romantic and sexual connection, I don’t feel like I would feel the need to try to go find more.”

Smith’s parents have always been tremendously supportive of who she is.

Willow Smith doesn’t believe in monogamy

While Smith might be linked to Cole personally and professionally, they may not have a traditional relationship. “That feeling of you’re my one and my only. There’s no one else; for me, that would not work,” Smith explained on Red Table Talk. She continued,

This is the scariest thought that people shy away from. It’s the feeling of feeling like the person that you love is falling in love with somebody else. And that insecurity and fear just eats us alive. But that insecurity and fear is something that we need to overcome and something that we need to evolve out of and transmute that into something new and different that can actually be helpful and make us love more and more freely.

Tyler Cole is an artist and musician

On a recent episode of Red Table Talk, Smith brought Cole to the table to chat about voting. She introduced the 22-year-old as a close family friend. Cole, who is also in the band The Anxiety with Smith expressed why voting is so important to him.

Cole, who also worked on Smith’s latest album and collaborated with her for a 24-hour performance art event at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Geffen Contemporary has also been an advocate for breaking the mold in the music industry. He said,

I feel like a huge dilemma for us as Black people is that the media and the industry wants to see us in a certain light. In the music industry, you’re taught that oh, if you’re Black and you rap about violence and money that’s going to make you more money. Labels are going to want to sign you if you’re talking about violence more so than [something else].

Smith and Cole have been linked since April 2018. Though they’ve expressed love and admiration for each other online, they’ve mostly kept their romance to themselves.
