When Emilia Clarke Met Beyoncé, She Lost Her Sh*t and Started Crying (Naturally)

Emilia Clarke may have been Queen of the Andals and the First Men as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, but when she met the real-life Queen Bey, she was far less composed. The gorgeous actress recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show, where she and Regina King gushed over attending Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s secret Oscars afterparty earlier this year. While Emilia explained that she did not expect to actually meet Beyoncé at the shindig in February, she was at a loss for words when the moment actually came . . . and what she lacked in words, she made up for in tears.

“Queen Bey came up to me and was like, ‘I’d love to talk to you!’ And I just did not respond in the way that I was thinking she thought I might respond,” Emilia said. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, oh my god.’ Too many drinks in, started crying, it didn’t go well.” Given that Beyoncé is a Game of Thrones fan (she even owns one of the coveted dragon eggs from the show), we’re sure she didn’t mind. I mean, it’s only natural to lose your sh*t when meeting Beyoncé. Lizzo recently had a similar reaction when she realized Bey was watching her perform at the Made in America Festival last month.
