Mike Pence is not giving in to pressure from the President.

The Vice President told President Donald Trump that he will not bow to demands to overturn the results of the presidential election as of Wednesday (January 6) amid baseless allegations of voting fraud, which have been thrown out in court cases across the country.

In a letter to Congress, he declared that he has no “unilateral authority to decide presidential contests” and could not change the results of the election.

“It is my considered judgement that my oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not,” he wrote.

President-Elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated later this month.
