12/06/2019Khloé Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner used to have a tight-knit relationship. Jenner entered Kardashian’s life when she was a young girl and was there for the reality star during some of the most important times in her life — from her marriage to Lamar Odom to her fertility issues.
However, they’re no longer on the best of terms. Their relationship started to change after Jenner (formerly known as Bruce Jenner) came out as transgender in 2015, and it’s seemingly only worsening by the day.
Jenner often makes comments and does things that appear to drive a deeper wedge between them. Kardashian has been open about how much the drama affects her, but she never does it in an overly disrespectful way.
Here’s a look at some of their drama and the reported reason why Kardashian hasn’t lashed out at Jenner.
The drama between Khloé Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner
Kardashian and Jenner’s relationship became icy in 2015 after Jenner came out as a woman. Kardashian and her family claimed that they were left in the dark about Jenner’s plans.
In a 2016 interview with Howard Stern, Kardashian said she had only learned about Jenner’s plans to transition in a meeting with E! where producers mentioned that the Olympian had landed a docuseries.
Jenner reacted angrily to the interview, allegedly bombarding Kardashian with fiery texts in which she told her to “shut up” and “f*ck off.” The fashion designer then said she was “done” with Jenner.
But in a 2017 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the two came face-to-face and tried to talk things out. During the conversation, Kardashian admitted that she felt she’d lost her “second dad” after Jenner transitioned.
“For me, you’re all I remember, Bruce was,” she said. “So not having you in my life, it’s a huge blow because I’m like, OK, my second dad, this guy that I’ve grown up with, that raised me, was taken away from me, but no one really let me have that.”
The conversation appeared to end on a warm note. But then Jenner published a tell-all book, 2017’s Secrets of My Life, in which she made some damaging claims about Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner. The book led to their falling out.

In May 2019, Kardashian appeared on Laura Wasser’s Divorce Sucks podcast and said she was “fine with Caitlyn.”
“I saw Caitlyn recently, trying to think when, but yeah when I see Caitlyn it’s fine. I think we’ve really come a long way. It was a struggle for all of us … not because she was transitioning. I think from just how it was all handled.”
“But I also think, when your emotions die down, you’re able to really look at everything and be like, ‘We’re all humans and we’re all trying to figure this out,’” Kardashian added.
But Kardashian was the only Kardashian-Jenner sibling who did not attend Jenner’s 70th birthday party in October. She would later claim that she had work obligations.
Jenner, however, suggested in November that Kardashian didn’t show up because they still were not on good terms.
During an episode of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Jenner talked about how her feud with the Kardashians began, and how she told her family about her plans to transition, saying: “I went through every kid, and Khloé for some reason was pissed off about something through this whole process.”
Jenner continued, “It’s been five or six years and I really haven’t talked to her since. We were really close, I raised her since she was five years old, I really don’t know what her issues are.”
TMZ reported on Dec. 3 that Kardashian was “confused” by the comment and refutes Jenner’s claim.

On Dec. 4, a source told Us Weekly that Kardashian is keeping calm for the sake of her sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
“For her love of Kylie and Kendall, she wouldn’t have a bad relationship with her,” the source said.
The insider also pushed back on Jenner’s claim that she hasn’t talked to Kardashian in all those years.
“Khloé and Caitlyn aren’t the closest, but the idea that they haven’t spoken in 5-6 years is crazy,” the source continued. “They have seen each other, they have spoken.”
The source also noted that Jenner has been “distant” from the Kardashians over the past few years.
“Caitlyn isn’t close to the family as a whole,” the insider shared. “But this isn’t surprising. Caitlyn always has her own separate reality.”
“It doesn’t make sense,” the source added. “It’s disappointing somewhat, but not surprising.”
It sucks to see how things have unfolded. But we hope they can work it out one day.
