TALK OF THE TOWN: NCP tycoon Sir Donald Gosling ‘leaves £50 million to the Queen’… so she can build a new Royal Yacht

The yachting world is awash with whispers that Donald Gosling, the late millionaire boss of National Car Parks, has left £50 million in his will… to the Royal Family.

It seems the donation is to put towards an as-yet unspecified scheme to commission a new Royal Yacht.

Sir Donald, who died in September aged 90, was as outraged as the Queen when the Royal Yacht Britannia was taken away from her by Tony Blair’s Government in 1997.

Sir Donald Gosling, who died in September aged 90, was as outraged as the Queen when the Royal Yacht Britannia was taken away from her by Tony Blair’s Government in 1997.

It is claimed Sir Donald, pictured, may have left £50 million in his will to the Royal Family to pay for a new Royal Yacht

Sir Donald, right, allowed the Queen to use his own £50 million yacht during her Diamond Jubilee tour

The Queen shed a tear when the Royal Yacht Britannia was decommissioned in 1997

And like Her Majesty, he shed a tear at its decommissioning ceremony.

Afterwards, Sir Donald offered her full use of his £50 million Leander G vessel, which she used for her Diamond Jubilee tour.

Details will be made clear when the will is published at the end of the year.

I hope Sir Donald didn’t leave the monster sum in vain – the Queen has no plans to acquire a new yacht at this stage in her life!

Whatever would Carson say? Downton Abbey’s Daisy Lewis is looking for romance on Instagram!

The unlucky-in-love ex of Steve Coogan has begged her social media followers to help in her search for a partner.

The 34-year-old who plays teacher Sarah Bunting in Downton, told fans she had been Googling kind men, adding: ‘Let me know if you find one… reward if found.’

Daisy, who has just directed her first film, Actress, is keen to start a family and has just bought a pad in trendy Bethnal Green, East London.

If beautiful, famous, talented, property-owning Daisy is struggling to find a man, God help the rest of the dating world…

For someone so funny and popular, Chelsy Davy has been strangely unlucky in love since dumping the former most eligible bachelor on the planet.

Prince Harry’s ex has, I hear, now parted ways with dashing US film director James Marshall.

The pair were seen kissing passionately just after Harry’s wedding to Meghan last year.

It was rumoured at the time that Meghan may have played a hand in setting them up, as divorcee James was formerly married to her friend Elettra Wiedemann.

Chelsy split from Prince Harry in 2014 because she didn’t want to become a member of the Royal Family.
