Susanna Reid: ‘I’ll never marry’ GMB host vows following split from Steve Parish this year

Susanna Reid, 48, vowed she will never get married while discussing engagements with her co-host Piers Morgan and reality TV star Gemma Collins. The presenter split from Crystal Palace chairman, Steve Parish back in April this year, and has remained single since.

Piers quizzed Gemma, who was standing in for showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold on his day off, about her relationship with The Only Way Is Essex co-star and boyfriend James Argent, to which he asked if there would be wedding bells any time soon.

“I don’t know, Piers,” Gemma blushed as the presenter addressed James directly about asking for her hand in marriage.

As Gemma said she doesn’t want to “wait much longer,” Susanna chimed in with her mantra.

“I’ll never marry,” she confessed, shaking her head at the camera and throwing her hands in the air.

Piers looked surprised as he asked: “Are you still in the never marry camp?”

“Yes, I am,” she insisted.

“You don’t think you’ll ever get married?”

“I don’t want to be married,” she said.

Piers couldn’t get his head round it, as Susanna was adamant the time would never come for her to want to make the commitment.

“It’s not for everyone,” Gemma agreed.

“It’s a tie isn’t it, unless you really love them, you’re going to be tied to them for a long time.”

The presenter appeared to shudder at the thought of it.

The Sun revealed back in November 2018, that Susanna was dating the football boss but by April she confirmed the relationship had “fizzled out”.

She told the publication during the relationship that she was “having fun” and “very happy”.

“I am very, very happy at the moment, but I don’t want to be married. No, no, no. I think the focus should be on the relationship,” she said previously.

Before Steve, Susanna was with her ex-partner, former sports correspondent Dominic Cotton, for 16 years.

The couple share three sons together.

Susanna and Piers have been likened to “an old married couple” for their squabbles on the ITV breakfast show but she said she can confide in him about private issues.

Earlier this year, her outspoken co-host teased her about her break up on-air, after the Daily Star posted a story about him being “her man”.

Speaking to the Mirror, she said:”Piers is a complete wind up and a total pain in the backside.

“He constantly teases me and says I protest too much when people joke that we’re an old married couple.”

Susanna added: “At the same time I also trust Piers with lots of secrets and personal stuff and I know that’s not going to appear on air.
