Strictly’s Gorka Marquez apologises to Gemma Atkinson for missing her birthday and shares sweet tribute

Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has apologised to his girlfriend Gemma Atkinson for missing her birthday.
Gorka, 30, is currently isolating away from his girlfriend Gemma, 36, and their daughter Mia due to the Strictly’s coronavirus rules.
The dancer, who is paired with EastEnders star Maisie Smith, shared a lengthy tribute to former Hollyoaks star Gemma and penned a heartfelt message on his Instagram.
He wrote: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY!!” followed by a read heart emoji.

Gorka, who recently sparked rumours he had tied the knot with Gemma, added: “Sad I can't be there to celebrate with you and Mia your day like you deserve.”
Professional dancer Gorka continued: “You are the most amazing mum and girlfriend in the world! Kind, funny, humble, caring, talented, strong and I am so grateful to have you by my side.
“I’m sorry I can’t give you a birthday kiss but you have my kisses forever TE AMO” followed by a red heart emoji.
He then finished his caption with “Feliz cumpleaños”, which is happy birthday in Spanish.
Gorka has clearly been missing his girlfriend and one year old daughter Mia as he became emotional about the mother and daughter recently.
He was surprised with a video message from Gemma and his daughter during an episode of Strictly’s spin off show It Takes Two last week.
Gemma, who recently asked fans for advice on sending her daughter to nursery, said in the footage: “You’re doing so well guys! Gorka I’m so proud of you – we are so proud of you. I cannot wait to see you and give you a big squeeze. We love you so much.
“You did so incredibly well last weekend and we can’t wait to see you smash it again this weekend!”

After he was shown the sweet clip, Gorka wiped away tears and told ITT host Gethin Jones: “You can’t do that”.
Gethin, 42, replied: “You’re missing them aren’t you?”
To which Gorka emotionally confessed he was missing his girlfriend and daughter.
Gemma and Gorka went public with their romance in February 2018, after the pair met on the 2017 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The couple then announced they were expecting their first child together in February 2019.
