Sharon Stone warns fans as ‘misdiagnosis’ turns out to be large tumour

Sharon Stone, 64, has taken to social media to urge her fans to always “get a second opinion” after she received a “misdiagnosis” that turned out to be a “large tumour”. 

She wrote: “Just had another misdiagnosis and incorrect procedure.

“This time double epidural. W worsening pain went for a SECOND OPINION.

“I have a large fibroid tumor that must come out.

“Ladies in particular: Don’t get blown off. GET A SECOND OPINION. It can save your life.

“I’ll be down for 4-6 weeks for full recovery.

“Thx for your care. It’s all good.” (sic)

According to the NHS, fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb.

Many are unaware they have fibroids because they don’t cause any symptoms. However, in rare cases they can cause serious problems.

Some can suffer with pain in their abdomen or lower back, as well as painful periods and discomfort during sex. 

They can also cause infertility in some cases and complications during pregnancy.

After Sharon shared her news on social media, many took to the comments to wish her a speedy recovery. 

Michelle penned: “Oh no! So sorry to hear this. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Take care of yourself! Virtual hugs to you.

“Thanks for the information about getting a second opinion. It could literally save someone’s life. You’re always so truthful and thoughtful.”

Natalia echoed: “So sorry to hear your news, finally got to the bottom of it. Great advice, always get a second opinion. Wishing you well & smooth recovery. Take care.” 

While Carla wrote: “I am so sorry you have to deal with this. Sending you healing thoughts.”

In a follow-up post, the Basic Instinct actress shared a link to an article entitled: “Women more likely than men to suffer misdiagnosis, according to studies.”

She then added the caption: “READ THIS LADIES and VOTE BLUE FOR YOUR LIVES YOU ARE WORTH IT.” (sic)
