Sandra Bullock reveals the one movie she’s still ’embarrassed’ she made

Nearly three decades after its release, there’s one movie Sandra Bullock remains “embarrassed” that she ever made. The “Lost City” star recently sat down with her castmate Daniel Radcliffe for an interview with TooFab. Asked if they could name a film they were “embarrassed” about at first but later “came around to,” thanks to their fans’ response, Sandra, 57, volunteered an answer. “I have one no one came around to and I’m still embarrassed I was in,” she said. “It’s called ‘Speed 2.’ I’ve been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island.” Unlike its predecessor, 1997’s “Speed” sequel had no Sandra-Keanu Reeves chemistry to entice viewers. Instead, it saw Sandy and Jason Patric’s characters trying to keep a cruise ship from hitting an oil tanker. Keanu told Jimmy Kimmel in 2015 he “decided not to be in” the movie because while he “loved working with” Sandra and director Jan de Bont, “… I read the script and I was like, ‘Ugh.'” He added, “It was about a cruise ship and I was thinking, ‘A bus, a cruise ship… ‘Speed,’ bus, but then a cruise ship is even slower than a bus and I was like, ‘I love you guys, but I just can’t do it.’” Alas, Sandra went for it. And today? “That’s one I wished I hadn’t done and no fans came around that I know of, except for you,” she told the TooFab reporter, who had argued that he was a big fan of the movie as a kid. Daniel, 32, chimed in to say he also thought “it had a kind of cult love.” Sandra wasn’t having it. “Very quiet!” she said. “Like five people. Him and the other four 12-year-olds who were watching the slow boat going towards the tiny island.” “The Lost City,” which also stars Channing Tatum, hits theaters March 25.

Back in 2020, Amy revealed they changed their son’s name after it became clear their first choice was a potentially disastrous playground situation waiting to happen. As Amy explained on her “3 Girls, 1 Keith” podcast, she wanted to honor her friend, comic Dave Attell, with the baby’s name. She and Chris were already sold on Gene, so they used Dave’s surname as a middle name. Um … that didn’t work. “It’s now Gene David Fischer,” Amy said at the time. “It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realized that we, by accident, named our son ‘Genital.'”

The sparkler was reportedly on her index finger when she shot a music video with Rocky in July 2021. A few months later, the same ring was on Rihanna’s middle finger when she was honored as a National Hero of her native Barbados. One thing we do know for sure is RiRi’s mini-me is almost here: She confirmed she’s in her third trimester of pregnancy earlier this month.

Attention, movie-loving Beyhivers: The (now Oscar-nominated) Queen could have top billing at this weekend’s Academy Awards. Citing “multiple sources close to the show,” Variety reported this week that Beyonce is in talks to open the March 27 ceremony with a performance of “Be Alive,” which is up for a best song prize. Co-written with artist Dixson, “Be Alive” provided the lead track for “King Richard,” the biopic about Venus and Serena Williams’ father, Richard Wiliams, whose determination to see his daughters fulfill their potential as world-class athletes helped Venus and Serena do just that, transforming women’s tennis in the process. According to three Variety sources, Bey is considering a satellite performance of the song from broadcast from tennis courts in Compton, Calif., a la the Williams sisters’ childhood training ground. The outlet also claims Will Smith, who starred in the film, could be involved somehow in the performance before racing back to the ceremony, where he’s up for best actor. Variety also reported “numerous insiders” said Bey just might nix the whole idea should her plans leak, so … we’ll cross our fingers and move on.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is opening up about rumored tension on the set of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” perhaps more than she ever has publicly before. Now 44, the star of the long-running series seems to agree with claims her former co-stars have made in the past about the young actors being set in opposition to one another on the set, for various reasons. “I think that unfortunately, the set we were on and the world we were in, was pitting us against each other,” Sarah says in Evan Katz’s new book, “Into Every Generation a Slayer Is Born: How Buffy Staked Our Hearts” (via EW), when asked rumors of cast feuds. “I think it would have been different if it was today. It would have been a very different relationship. But we have a great relationship now.” Her comments echo what Charisma Carpenter wrote on social media in 2021 about the environment on the show, albeit without directly accusing Joss Whedon of toxic behavior as Charisma and later, Michelle Trachntenberg did. Rather, Sarah points out some of the other factors at play when they filmed the series, which ran from 1997 until 2003. “Look, we worked really hard hours. We were young, we had ups and downs. Everybody had arguments,” she says. “There were times where David [Boreanaz] could be a handful. He never really was to me, but I’m sure [he was]. And I’m sure I was the same way to people also, right? It wasn’t rosy. Nobody gets along all the time. And Alyson [Hanigan] and I had moments. There’s no question. But you’re young.” Later, Sarah later reiterates the matter of everyone’s young age. “There are times where I wish I could have done things differently, but I didn’t know how to handle the stress that I was under. I was really young, and I didn’t have any outside life,” she says. “I was the one that was always working and sometimes I would be resentful of the fact that they didn’t have to work all the time. It ebbs and flows, and anyone that tells you they get along with everyone all the time, it’s just not true.”

Petition to drop Kanye West from Coachella gains steam with more than 30k signatures

Will Coachella follow in the footsteps of the 2022 Grammy Awards and nix Kanye West from its lineup? More than 30,000 music fans seem to hope so. In the wake of news the rapper, now legally known as Ye, was barred from performing at the Grammys because of “concerning online behavior,” a Change.org petition demanding Coachella remove him from its lineup is gaining steam — and fast. As of Tuesday, March 22, the doc had surpassed 30,000 signatures by mid-day. It appears to have been launched last week by a fan of Kanye’s ex, Kim Kardashian West, and her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, who’s been the target of Ye’s attacks on social media and in new music. “We have watched Kanye harass, manipulate, and hurt Kim, Pete, and others for over a year now. No one seems to want to stand up to him, and the ones that do, he puts under fire as well,” Change.org user Caramello Marie writes in the petition. “Most recently, he has been threatening actual bodily harm on others. This is ridiculous that he is allowed to freely do this. Coachella (along with other brand names that are still working with him) should be ashamed of themselves and should not be giving him any more of a platform.” (Caramello Marie also suggests signees follow them on Instagram at KimandPeteUpdates.) Kanye’s Grammy performance ban followed his recent temporary Instagram suspension. The rapper is up for seven awards at next month’s ceremony.

Kelly Clarkson clears up name change confusion

Last month, Us Weekly reported Kelly Clarkson had filed a petition to change her name legally to Kelly Brianne. But that’s not quite the plan, the singer said at this week’s “American Song Contest” premiere. “I just got divorced, so I had to drop my married last name. I just kept my middle name for my personal life. I’m still Kelly Clarkson,” Kelly explained to People at the March 21 event. “I don’t think I can change Clarkson at this point,” she added, joking, “I’m 20 years in!” Court documents excerpted by Us showed Kelly wanted to make the change because “my new name more fully reflects who I am,” as she put it. Kelly’s divorce split from her ex, Brandon Blackstock, was reportedly finalized in early March. The former couple split up their property, but Kelly agreed to pay Brandon more than $1.3 million as a one-time payment, plus monthly child support installments of $45,601. She’ll also fork over $115,000 a month in spousal support until Jan. 31, 2024, according to CNN. As of late February, she was expected back in court regarding her name change petition on March 28.
