07/29/2019Has Ryan Reynolds just teased Deadpool’s involvement in Phase 5 of the MCU?
The actor was up to his usual social media shenanigans once again on Sunday (July 28) as he marked the five-year anniversary of the Deadpool test footage ‘leak’.
Taking to Instagram, he shared an update on his “investigation” into who might be responsible for releasing the footage online, and the accompanying caption on the post might just be enough to make Deadpool and MCU fans go wild – particularly ones prone to reading too much into things.

Ever since the Disney-Fox merger, comic book fans have questioned what that could mean for the Merc with a Mouth and if the he’ll end up in the MCU.

While Deadpool doesn’t feature in Marvel’s slate for the next two years, Disney chairman Alan Horn assured fans back in April that they’ll be seeing plenty more of the character in the future.
So while we should take anything that comes out of Reynolds’ social media accounts with the tiniest pinch of salt, it’s not completely beyond the realms of possibility that his foul-mouthed, katana-wielding superhero could one day enter the MCU.
And we’re sure he’d make an inappropriate joke about that.
