After being sentenced to life behind bars, the actor portraying Jeffrey Augustine on the hit CW series is afraid he’ll be ‘physically, psychologically and sexually intimidated’ in prison.

AceShowbizRyan Grantham apparently considers himself a puny guy despite fatally shooting his own mom Barbara Waite. The Jeffrey Augustine depicter in the fourth season of “Riverdale” has admitted that he fears he will be brutalized in prison.

The 24-year-old actor’s lawyer, Chris Johnson told TMZ on Tuesday, September 27 that he and his client are worried the actor will be abused while in prison. Chris said that he’s concerned his client could be “physically, psychologically and sexually intimidated” if he spends his time locked up in a maximum security prison.

Chris further added that Ryan’s age, size and mental state need to be considered by prison officials because “anyone with eyes can see he simply wouldn’t fare well.” The attorney even recommended a medium security facility for his client, who is only 5’2″ and weighs about 100 lbs.

As for now, Ryan is being held at a pretrial center. The “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” actor will probably be there for another week as his lawyer is still looking out for him and asking the Deputy Commissioner of Prisons to put his client in a medium-security prison.

Ryan was sentenced to life behind bars for fatally shooting his mother Barbara. The actor, who previously admitted to killing his mom to spare her from having to witness his plot to assassinate Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, received the sentencing on September 21 in Vancouver. In addition to the by-the-book second-degree murder punishment, he will not be eligible for parole for 14 years.

According to his lawyer Chris, Ryan was not shocked at the sentencing. “I think he anticipated what the judge gave him as a sentence,” explained the attorney. “I think he’s pretty apprehensive about the whole thing. He’s a fairly tiny person, and to go to the prison system, I’m sure it’s a daunting and scary thought for him.”

Ryan was 21 years old when he shot his mother Barbara in the back of the head as she played piano in the family’s Squamish home on March 31, 2020. After killing his mom, the child actor allegedly planned to kill Canadian Prime Minister Justin. He loaded his car with three guns, ammunition, 12 Molotov cocktails, camping supplies and a map with directions to Rideau Cottage, where the Prime Minister lived with his family.

Ryan, however, never made it to Justin’s residence and instead went to Vancouver police headquarters to turn himself in. “I killed my mother,” he reportedly bluntly declared to police at the front desk of the station.

As for Barbara, her body was found on April 1, 2020, by her daughter Lisa, who arrived at the scene after Barbara failed to answer her calls and texts. “How can I trust anybody when my only sibling chose to execute my mom when her back was turned,” Lisa said in court.

During his court appearance in June, Ryan expressed his sorrow. “I cannot explain or justify my actions. I have no excuse,” he said at the time. “It hurts me to think about how badly I’ve wasted my life. In the face of something so horrible, saying sorry seems so pointless. But from every fiber of my being, I am sorry.”
