Rapper Bad Azz ‘dies in jail’ at the age of 43 as Snoop Dogg pays tribute

Rapper Bad Azz has died at the age of 43, it's claimed.

The musician, whose real name is Jamarr Antonio Stamps, reportedly died in prison.

Fellow artist Daz Dillinger said Stamps was being held at Southwest Detention Center in Riverside on a charge of domestic violence when he died, but the cause of death is yet to be revealed.

Tributes have poured in on social media, including one from Snoop Dogg, who said he was "gone too soon".

Stamps was part of Snoop's LBC crew and was also featured on tracks by Tupac Shakur, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes and Warren G.

Snoop posted on Instagram : "Damn. R. I. P. To my young. D. P. G. L. L. G. L. B. C. Crew original.

"@badazzlbc gone 2 soon."

Dillinger shared a screenshot appearing to be from Stamps' prison record.

It showed that he was due to be in court on Wednesday.

Dillinger posted: "R I P TO THE HOMEY BAD AZZ @badazzlbc JAMAR STAMPS DPGC MEMBER.

"NO JUSTICE NO PEACE. BAD AZZ RIP."

Bad Azz released his debut solo studio album Word on tha Streets in 1998.

As well as being a part of 'Dogg Pound', he was also a part of the LBC Crew (Long Beach City Crew) which also included artists such as Lil C-style and Tray Dee.

He was also briefly signed to Doggystyle Records.
