The Queen has allegedly been left fuming after her staff reportedly refused to work over the Christmas period.

The 94 year old monarch, who recently celebrated her grandson Prince Harry's birthday, is said to have asked her servants to isolate away from their loved ones for four weeks in Sandringham.

An insider said the staff were asked to provide backroom support for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her traditional break over the festive winter time.

It means The Queen may have to spend Christmas at Windsor Castle for the first time in 33 years.

"The Queen is furious," an insider told The Sun Online. "The staff said enough is enough. It is absolutely unprecedented."

The source continued: "Everybody wants to stay loyal but they feel they’ve been pushed too far by being made to isolate from their families for Christmas.”

Representatives for the monarch have since told OK! Online: "Discussions are taking place with the team on operational matters but it is too early to speculate on implications for Christmas.”

It comes as The Queen, who recently attended a "scaled down" Trooping the Colour event, took part in her first public video call last month to support the nation’s carers and she had to take to Zoom as a result.

"You should have six people on your screen,” as we were offered a behind-the-scenes look in an ITV documentary which marked Princess Anne’s 70th birthday.

We then heard the Queen reply, saying: “Yes, well I can see four anyway,” to which Anne, 69, replied: “Actually, you don't need me. You know what I look like!”

And it was quite the playful exchange, with Anne smiling away as she poked fun at the Queen as she got to grips with Zoom.
