Ozzy Osbourne says he’d have killed himself if he’d been paralysed in freak fall

Ozzy Osbourne feared he would be paralysed for life after a freak fall at his home in LA.

The Black Sabbath star said the pain was beyond anything he had ever experienced – and admitted he would have killed himself if the damage had been permanent.

Speaking about his ordeal, Ozzy, 70, said: “I cannot describe to you the helpless feeling that I had.

“I had to use [a walker] to go for a pee. I had to have nurses, day and night. Just being in hospital is enough to drive you nuts.

“I thank God I didn’t paralyse myself when I had that accident. I wouldn’t be here now. I would have jumped off the f***ing roof…”

Ozzy had a near fatal quad bike crash in 2003. He is also known for his long-term drug use and drinking.

In January, the singer took a tumble on his way to the bathroom during the night.

It dislodged some of the metal rods put into his body as a result of the bike accident.

And the damage and surgeries on his spine and neck were so severe he feared it might have been the end of his career.

He said: “For the first four months, I was absolutely in agony. I was in agony beyond anything I ever experienced before… it was awful.”

He added: “The most depressing thing I’ve been thinking is, ‘Am I gonna walk properly again? Am I gonna be able to perform again?’”

And now, more than six months on, the rocker is still recovering.
