Amanda Owen has taken to Instagram and Twitter to address the “thoroughly unpleasant” time she’s been having at Ravenseat. The Yorkshire Shepherdess, 47, detailed the less than ideal weather she was facing on the family’s farm, Ravenseat, in Upper Swaledale, candidly branding the conditions “horrible”.

Today’s wintery blast was horrible

In view of her 473,000 followers, the mother-of-nine, who shares her children with husband and fellow farmer Clive Owen, addressed the bleak weather.

She wrote: “There’s snow & there’s snow,” alongside two snowflake emojis.

“Today’s wintery blast was horrible.(sic)

“Sleety wet snow coupled with wind made conditions thoroughly unpleasant,” she ended her post.

She added hashtags: “#yorkshire #snow #winter #weather.”

Alongside the caption, the best-selling author shared a series of snaps of her time out in the snow.

In the first, Amanda could be seen standing amongst her flock of sheep as the cold wind whipped her hair around her face.

Despite attending to her animals, the farmer opted for a touch of glam by wearing glitzy silver earrings.

In another picture, the TV star grimaced for a selfie as damp tendrils of hair clung to her hood.

Following the series of snaps, fans of the shepherdess rushed to the comments to urge her to look after herself in the sub-zero temperatures.

Instagram user karanwigglesworth wrote: “Stay safe out there.”

Peggrem commented: “Unpleasant is not the word it looks bloomin’ freezing x.”

emily_coles5 added: “Make sure you all have that fire lovely and warm after being in that weather xxx.”

While tarasm69 penned: “You still manage to look glam though!!”

Following her earlier post, Amanda went on to share snaps of her children playing in the snow under a sunny blue sky.

The Yorkshire-native showed off her photography skills as she shared breathtaking pictures of the stunning snow-covered scenery.

Yesterday, Amanda told how she and her family had welcomed a new addition to Ravenseat farm.

In a sweet post, the star revealed that their house cow Buttercup had calved.

Introducing the new family member, Amanda wrote: “She’s a quiet, docile & very greedy dairy shorthorn that will provide enough milk for her calf and our household.”

Followers of the star took to the comments to congratulate her on the wonderful news.
