Naga Munchetty took to Instagram and shared a candid video as the BBC Breakfast presenter underwent a procedure today. The journalist and broadcaster urged people on social media to get involved and assist in “saving lives” for those in need.

Taking to the picture-sharing site, the 46-year-old shared a video as she sported a face covering.

The BBC Breakfast anchor explained that she visited the hospital to donate blood.

In view of her 47,000 followers, Naga began: “Guess where I am? I am here with the lovely Russ.

“What are we doing Russ?”

The NHS healthcare worker replied: “You’ve come here to donate blood to help save lives.”

Naga then quizzed: “Why is the camera shaking Russ?”

“Because you’re a bag of nerves,” he cheekily quipped.

The BBC Breakfast broadcaster chuckled, as she commented: “Because I’m doing as I was told.

“I’m squeezing the buttocks because I want to give a little bit of blood and help to save lives.”

She continued: “Anyway, if you think you can do it why not give it a go because you get to meet lovely people like Russ.

“And you get a chocolate biscuit and a sweet drink or a cup of tea at the end of it.”

“Have a lovely day,” Naga finished.
