Montgomery Gentry Release New Single ‘Outskirts’
06/04/2019Montgomery Gentry‘s Eddie Montgomery has released the title track from the band’s upcoming album, titled Outskirts.
Outskirts, set to release on June 14, is a collection of 7 songs that Montgomery and partner Troy Gentry recorded before Gentry’s death in a helicopter crash in 2017.
Montgomery said he can’t wait for his friends to hear these songs. “T-Roy and I had a blast recording them,” he recalled.
“I’m all about that red dirt/ Hot girl in a T-shirt/ Sweat ring on my ball cap/ Cold beer in my hand when I get off work,” the duo sing in the chorus.
Outskirts is a follow-up to the duo’s 2018 album, Here’s to You.
Montgomery shared with Rolling Stone memories of Gentry, saying, “Just hearing his voice, I reckon. Every time I listen to it or hear one of the songs, it takes me back to times that we had — you know like back before we started growing up.”
