Michelle Keegan has hit out after realising she's constantly asked about when she'll have children with her husband Mark Wright while he isn't.

The 33 year old, who recently stunned in a glamorous dress and red lipstick as she joked about dressing up to go to the fridge, explained that there's a double standard at play when it comes to men and women in the public eye.

Speaking to Women's Health, of which she's the cover star for the February issue, she said: "I do think it's different for a woman. It shouldn't be, but it is.

"I get asked about children whereas Mark wouldn't, for example."

The Our Girl star, who has been married to the TV personality since 2015, went on to explain she has no idea what answer would make the public happy.

She said: "Why haven't I had a child? When am I going to have a child? I don't know what they want me to say. I don't know what the right or wrong answer is."

Former Coronation Street actress Michelle continued by addressing why she refrains from posting too many loved-up snaps or videos with her 33 year old other half across her social media channels.

"A lot of things in my life are out of my control, but one thing I do have control over is my social media and I like to try and keep some memories private," she explained.

Michelle added: "Over the years we've opened ourselves up to a lot of criticism, so it's nice to have something just for us.

And it seems fans have been left in awe of her physique, even sending her direct messages to ask about her fitness routine and diet.

When asked whether she'd ever do a fitness-based project, she explained: "A few years ago, I would have said no. A workout is such a personal thing – it's you and your body – and I think I'm always going to have that self-conscious feeling.

"But I love how the gym makes me feel. Every time I post something fitness-wise, a lot of people comment and ask what I do. So, I'll never say never. Because fitness and eating healthily is my lifestyle now."
