Michael Owen breaks silence following 25-year-old’s death at stables04/11/2023
Michael Owen spoke out for the first time since the death of Jessica Whalley, 25, at his Manor House Stables in Malpas, Cheshire.
The former beauty queen collapsed and tragically died at the stables on Tuesday.
Taking to his Instagram Story, Michael shared a photograph of Jessica riding a horse.
The caption, which was uploaded to Manor House Stables’ page, read: “We are all devastated by the loss of Jess Whalley, our extremely valued team member, friend and colleague, on Tuesday.
“Jess was hugely popular within the team here and in the wider racing community. We will all miss her terribly.
“We extend our deepest condolences to those closest to her, and hope they will find comfort that Jess died doing a job she adored and was incredibly good at.”
Jessica worked as a transport manager at the stables which Michael Owen has owned since 2007.
She was also a beauty pageant queen, representing the UK in the Miss Tourism Universe pageant in Beirut in 2019.

On Tuesday, Jessica collapsed at the stables and was unable to be revived by paramedics.
She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A statement from the stables said: “It is with deep sadness that we have to announce that a much-valued member of our team died at work this morning.
“The family have been informed and both the family and the team at Manor House request privacy at this time.”
Cheshire Police also released a statement that read: “At around 8.50am today, Tuesday 28 March, police were made aware that a 25-year-old woman had collapsed at a stables on Old Coach Road, Malpas.
“Emergency services attended the location and, despite the best efforts of all those involved, the woman sadly died at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and her next of kin have been informed. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
