Love Island’s Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott ‘strike up romance’ following his split from Demi Jones

Love Island beauty Lucie Donlan is said to have struck up a blossoming romance with fellow star Luke Mabbott following his split from Demi Jones.

According to reports, Lucie, who appeared on the ITV dating show last year, is smitten with newly-single Luke, who appeared on the most recent winter series of the dating show.

However, because of the coronavirus lockdown, Lucie and Luke are yet to meet in person and have only chatted online.

“Luke and Lucie have been speaking for a few weeks but they haven't actually met up yet,” a source revealed.

Lucie, who previously dated Joe Garratt after they hit it of on the show, recently hinted that she has someone special in her life in her latest Instagram post.

Sharing a beach snap while sporting a swimsuit, the surfer captioned the image: “Dear tummy…Sorry for all the butterflies lately. I swear it’s not my fault.. it’s his.”

Luke also hinted at a secret romance by captioning his most recent selfie: “Since you’ve been around I smile a lot more than I used to.”

It comes after Luke split from Demi, who he met on the show, just three months after filming ended.

A source close to the former couple said: "It's no huge drama — they're just better off as friends. They had a good run but they have split for good.

"There's been no cheating or drama they just drifted apart — he's looking forward to lockdown being over and making the most of his new single status," the insider continued to tell The Sun.

Demi caught the eye of Luke in the villa when she was dumped by Nas Majeed, who grew close to Eva Zapico during their time together in Casa Amor.

Before officially coupling up, the pair got into a love triangle with Shaughna Phillips, who competed to win the affection of Luke.

However, he chose to couple up with red head Demi, and the pair made the way to the final, finishing in third place.
