Love Island’s Amy Hart denies dating Toby Anstis after enjoying theatre trip together: ‘He’s too old’

Amy Hart has denied reports she is dating radio presenter Toby Anstis, claiming he is "too old" for her.

The 27 year old Love Island star was reported to be in the early stages of a romance with Heart FM DJ Toby, 50, after they enjoyed a night together at the theatre.

But a friend of the former air hostess has revealed the pair are not together, and Toby simply treated Amy to the theatre trip as a goodwill gesture.

A source told The Sun Online: "Toby is far too old for Amy. He took her to the Lion King to say thank you for being on his show as a last minute guest.

"She's not ready to be dating anyone again so soon after Curtis [Pritchard]," the insider added, hitting back at the claims after Amy was spotted with Toby outside London's Lyceum Theatre on Saturday night.

Amy and Toby met at Brighton Pride last month, with him sharing an image of himself with the blonde beauty with his 26,000 followers, writing: "Lovely to meet this gorgeous soul @amyhartxo last night at @brightonprideofficial," alongside love heart and kiss emojis.

MailOnline reported on Tuesday that the pair have enjoyed "a string of dates" following their chance meeting at the festival.

An insider told the publication: "They went to see the Lion King together at the West End because they are both huge fans of musicals. Toby was once in Grease: The Musical, so they bonded over that.

"They get on really well. They have been out together a couple of times and have been to the theatre and dinner.

"They are not an official couple but they have a real laugh together and have plans to meet up in the future."

Toby isn't the first celebrity that Amy has been linked to since leaving the ITV villa, with it being reported Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams has slid into her DMs.

A source told the Daily Star in July: "It’s no secret David has an eye for the ladies but he will have been touched by Amy’s heartbreak and no doubt offered friendship and support. However she is thrilled to hear from his especially as he is her big crush."

Amy had viewers in tears as they watched her heart break on national TV during the latest Love Island series this summer.

She had coupled up with Curtis Pritchard, and they even became "half boyfriend and half girlfriend."

But when Amy was ripped away with the girls by producers and put into the second villa, Casa Amor, Curtis began to have second thoughts about his feelings for Amy and he attempted to pursue Jourdan Riane, but was rejected.

Meanwhile, Amy had started to realise just how deeply she felt about the professional dancer, and aimed to tell him she loved him on her return.

She was delighted to discover Curtis hadn’t coupled up with anyone while Amy was away, but was later left shattered when he confessed to having second thoughts.

Amy then told Curtis: "I fell in love with you and I get back to this. I never thought you would do this to me. You're the perfect man, after all.

"Do you know how worthless this makes me feel? To know that you didn't like and respect me enough to be able to resist makes me feel like utter s***e."

Days later, Curtis savagely dumped Amy and told her he couldn’t promise he won’t betray her again. Amy then left the villa in emotional scenes which caused islanders and viewers alike cry.

After Amy left, Maura Higgins set her sights on Curtis and the pair have been dating ever since. But, the couple were faced with rumours of a split recently which Curtis has responded to.

In a chat with new! magazine, Curtis was asked how things are between him and Maura to which he said: "Fantastic! I left her lying in bed this morning as I came out to do some photos."

He was then asked if he was bothered by the split rumours and he replied: "I don’t read to much into it, because they’re rumours. It’s mine and Maura’s relationship and we haven’t split up."
