Lorraine Kelly, who hosts her self-titled ITV show, has suggested the royals keep matters within the family private. It comes after Prince Harry is said to have spoken to his dad, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William, after his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey alongside Meghan Markle.

During the interview, Harry had revealed he had not had a conversation with his dad and brother but in recent days telephone calls between the trio were said to have taken place.

Since the programme aired two weeks ago, US TV host Gayle King, said the talks so far were “not productive”.

Lorraine, 60, has since warned the Royal Family to “get a grip” as she claimed the back and forth between families “reeks of point-scoring”.

In her latest column for The Sun, the TV presenter addressed the recent phone call between Charles and his sons.

Lorraine wrote: “William and Charles will be feeling extremely uneasy about picking up the phone to Harry again in case their words are leaked to the US media.

“If Harry and Meghan genuinely still want to be part of his family and have some sort of relationship with them, this just doesn’t add up.

“It reeks of point-scoring, and I think they are better than that.”

The small-screen star also said she was “baffled” by Harry and Meghan after the couple explained they wanted to lead a private life after stepping down from their royal duties.

“I’m honestly baffled by Harry and Meghan,” Lorraine added in the publication.

She claimed the “‘fiercely private’ couple gave details of a personal phone call between Harry and his brother and father.”

The ITV presenter suggested that family matters be discussed privately in the future.

Lorraine concluded: “They all need to get a grip and keep things in the family while they still have a royal dynasty to hang on to.”

It comes after Gayle opened up about conversations between the royals on the US show, CBS This Morning.

Last week, Oprah’s best friend told her co-hosts: “I’m not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling.

“And it’s true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too.

“The word I was given was that those conversations were ‘not productive.’

“But they are glad they have at least started a conversation,” she said of her chat with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

However, Gayle stressed at the time: “No one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet.”

Following Meghan and Harry’s interview, where the Duchess addressed a variety of issues including her mental health, and claims Archie’s skin colour had been discussed by a member of the Firm.

The Queen had released a statement where she said that Harry, Meghan and Archie remain “much-loved family members,”.

She added that “the issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning,” but planned to deal with the matter privately.
