Threeyears ago, fans all around the world were left in shock after it was reportedthat Kim Kardashian West was robbed while in Paris.

Theterrifying ordeal left the reality star scared for her life as her fame andexposure unexpectedly took a dark turn.

Although Kardashian has tried her best to move past this horrifying situation, this experience still haunts her to this day.

Kardashian West was robbed of $10 million worth of jewelry

OnOctober 2, 2016, Kim Kardashian West experienced the scare of a lifetime whenshe was robbed in her Paris hotel room.

Thereality star was in “the City of Lights” for Paris Fashion Weekbut a few hours after returning to her hotel with her sister KourtneyKardashian and stylist Simone Harouche, West was robbed at gunpoint byfive individuals dressed as police officers.

Accordingto the police report, the thieves threatened the concierge to let them intoKardashian West’s room. Once inside, they tied her wrists and legs the wrappedduct tape around her mouth, all while Kardashian was begging for her life.

Shewent on to tell officials that the robbers stole two diamond Cartier bracelets,a gold and diamond Jacob necklace, Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, a goldRolex, and a few others items.

Theyeven took her $4 million wedding ring.

Aftertaking as much as they could, the thieves made their getaway, leaving thereality star unharmed.

TheKKW Beauty mogul recalled this horrifying event during Season 13 of KeepingUp with the Kardashians when she publicly opened up about theordeal for the first time.

“Theyask for money. I said I don’t have any money,” she tearfully tells sistersKourtney and Khloé Kardashian. “They dragged me out on to the hallwayon top of the stairs. That’s when I saw the gun clear, like clear as day. I waskind of looking at the gun, looking down back at the stairs.”

“Iwas like; ‘I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision,’” she recalls. “Am I going to run down the stairs and either be shotin the back? It makes me so upset to think about it. Either they’re going toshoot me in the back, or if I make it and they don’t, if the elevator does notopen in time, or the stairs are locked, then like I’m f*cked. There’s no wayout.”

The robbery has had a majorinfluence on her everyday life

Afterexperiencing this unimaginable situation, Kardashian West had a difficult timecoping with all that happened to her once she returned home.

Althoughshe quickly upped her security following the robbery, the reality star recallsthat experience as “the scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my entirelife — just, thinking that you’re about to die.”

Whilethat moment still haunts her to this day, Kardashian West has been coping withthe robbery in her own way.

Duringthe brand new E! True Hollywood Story, “Who Is KimKardashian West?,” Kardashian touches up the heist, sharingthat it has heavily influenced the life she lives today.

“Thatten minutes really changed my whole life,” she said.

Asidefrom being cautious when it comes to her social media presence, Kardashianadmits that the robbery has influence her to pursue a law degree andshowcase her passion for criminal justice.

“There’sthose moments in like that really change you, and shake you to your core. Myrobbery was definitely that moments for me,” she reflects during thehour-long special. “As crazy as this sounds, I wouldn’t give up thatexperience for the lessons I learned from it… Material things used to be soimportant to me. I measured my success by my material things. But there isnothing material that is important to me.”
