Kay Burley hilariously trolled for not knowing how to use aubergine emoji

Kay Burley made a grave mistake when hitting back at a follower who had asked if she was going to jump off a mountain 'without a harness'.

The Sky News presenter was clearly upset about the vicious comment and appeared to threaten the man with her sons, but added an aubergine emoji to the end of her tweet.

She received thousands of responses to the comment with many pointing out their worries that she had used the emoji – well-known as a substitute for a penis – in the wrong way.

Kay, 58, wrote back to the troll: "Wonder how brave keyboard warriors would be if they were face to face with my 6’ son and his mates."

But some of her followers mocked the addition of the aubergine saying it "raised a lot of questions".

"I reckon I could take him. No issue with you, just want to fight a 6 foot aubergine,' wrote one.

"Placement of the [aubergine] emoji here raises a lot of questions I don't want answers to," said a second.

"The most troubling part is the [aubergine]," shared one.

"The [aubergine] takes this tweet in a very disturbing direction," added another.
