Kate Garraway rocks epic Christmas jumper as she gets into festive spirit

Kate Garraway rocked an epic snowman jumper as she got into the festive spirit, after a tough year.

The 53-year-old’s husband, Derek Draper, has been battling for his life in a coma after getting coronavirus in March.

She looked to be in the Christmas spirit this morning as she made her way into the Smooth Radio studios, in London, after speaking about spending the festive period without him.

The Good Morning Britain host greeted cameras with a wave on her way into work, opting for a seasonal snowman jumper for the day, with a carrot sticking out of the hood for good measure.

Kate coupled the hoodie with a gold skirt and camel trench coat, finishing things off with black heeled boots.

Derek was rushed to hospital with coronavirus at the end of March, and was moved to intensive care just days later – where he is currently receiving treatment.

While he is now Covid-free, the illness wreaked havoc on his body, with Kate caring for him while also looking after their two children, William and Darcey.

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star is set to face Christmas without him which has left her in a ‘total panic’.

‘I’m very conflicted about Christmas, to be honest with you. I feel physically sick actually,’ she said on a recent instalment of Good Morning Britain.

‘I can sort of feel my chest tightening at the thought of it, in a total panic about the idea of Darcey, Billy and myself on our own at Christmas unable to visit Derek because of potential restrictions.’

However, discussing the celebrations, the mum-of-two explained that she’s hoping to make it a special time for their children.

‘There seems to be a general feeling this year that we need Christmas and New Year more than ever,’ she told Woman & Home magazine. 

‘We need things to feel like they’re moving forward because it’s been such a strange and tough year. 

‘All the things we love about Christmas – family, loved ones, indulgence and getting together – having been restricted for so long, it makes it even more precious this year.’
