Kanye West Isn't the Only Reason Kim Kardashian Dresses Less Sexy Now

The reality star is a mom to four kids, a CEO to multiple successful brands, a wife, and is working towards earning her degree in law. But, despite everything that Kardashian has been doing this year, much of the attention she has been receiving lately concerns the way she dresses. Fans and critics alike have noticed that Kardashian has been dressing less sexy then she has in the past. But what is the reason for this shift?
The Met Gala drama
Many fans are under the impression that Kardashian’s change in wardrobe is to appease her husband, Kanye West. On a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, West expressed both discomfort and disdain for Kardashian’s 2019 Met Gala look, which was a corset. “I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone who is married and the father of now … about to be four kids. A corset is a form of underwear, it’s hot, for who though,” West expressed to the reality TV star.

West continued on to imply that his image was negatively affected when pictures of Kardashian were “too sexy.” Though she defended herself at the time, and ultimately wore what she wanted to the gala, Kardashian admits that she has been dressing less sexy these days. Though West is certainly part of the reason for the shift, he’s not the only reason.
In a recent interview with The Cut, the KKW beauty owner said that despite her and West’s disagreements about her wardrobe, he still respects her enough to give her her freedom. “I don’t know if it’s the fact that my husband has voiced that sometimes too sexy is just overkill and he’s not comfortable with that. I listen to him and understand him. Still, at the end of the day, he always gives me the freedom to be and do what I want,” the multimillionaire shared.
Kardashian says her kids have affected the way she dresses
But, her husband’s opinion isn’t the sole reason for the shift. Now that Kardashian’s a mom, she regards the way she dresses a little bit differently. “But I have kind of had this awakening myself.I realized I could not even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed pretty much all the time. And I definitely contributed to that,” the 39-year-old shared.
How politics and law school have changed Kardashian’s personal brand
In addition to her kids, Kardashian’s political ties and her interest in criminal justice reform have also contributed to her wardrobe change. She admitted that she wanted politicians to view her in a certain way, and not be fixated on her sexy attire or lack thereof. “I mean, one of my most iconic covers was the Paper magazine one, when I was all oiled up and ripping my dress off. I also did think, like, ‘Okay, I’m here in the White House and then the next day I was posting, like, a crazy bikini selfie’. And I was thinking, ‘I hope they don’t see this’. I have to go back there next week,” she confessed.

Overall, Kardashian cites many different things as reasons that she no longer dresses so sexy. But, despite her reasons, it seems that she’s going through what most normal people do and evolving. 2019 Kardashian simply doesn’t look the same as 2009 Kardashian, and perhaps that’s for the best.
