John Legend Sings Ray Charles as Biden Takes Lead in Georgia Amid Election, Chrissy Teigen Reacts

John Legend is celebrating Georgia.

The 41-year-old crooner posted a 2-minute video of himself singing Ray Charles‘ “Georgia On My Mind” as news came in early on Friday (November 6) that Joe Biden pulled ahead amid the vote counting in the state during the 2020 presidential election.

“I love you Georgia,” he said at the end of the video.

“He has been waiting to post this for 5 hours,” Chrissy Teigen humorously added in a separate tweet.

Trump made headlines one night before for a lie-filled speech falsely claiming victory and claiming without basis that were “illegal votes” being cast to steal the election away from him.

The Associated Press confirmed that, at 4:30 a.m. local time, Biden overtook Trump in Georgia by 917 votes. 99% of all votes have been counted.

Joe Biden recently made clear one of the things he’ll do if he wins is reverse this Trump decision.
