Jim Davidson vows to never to set foot in London again due to Sadiq Khan

Jim Davidson has declared he will never set foot in London again in a scathing post aimed at Mayor Sadiq Khan.

In the tweet, the controversial comedian, 65, accused Khan of ruining his hometown.

He wrote: "I am never coming to London again. Khan. You have f****d my home town up."

However, the stunt backfired and Davidson was bombarded with messages from delighted Twitter users who said they were thrilled about his self-imposed banishment.

One responded: "How to make eight million people happy."

Another added sarcastically: "Such a loss to our great city's cultural offering."

A third joked: "Blimey Khan's improved London today," joked one.

"Brilliant news! Keep it up @SadiqKhan" tweeted a fourth.

Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, Davidson, who boasts friends such as Nigel Farage and Michael Gove , reportedly lives in Stockbridge.

The comic is no stranger to stirring up controversy with his views and came under fire earlier this year with his views on child-rearing.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, the dad-of-five insisted men shouldn't change nappies – and he out-sourced the task to "au pairs or nannies".

He said: "I used to get an au pair girl and nannies and things like that, you pay people.

"Do you clean your own windows? Exactly, so that's it."

Viewers branded him lazy and called his opinion totally outdated.

One wrote: "Nobody particularly likes changing nappies, but it has to be done – if you care about your child, you get on with it.

"It's not a case of man vs. Woman: if you're the child's parent, you do it. Equal responsibility. It's a privilege to care for your child."

Another fumed: "Course [men] should [help out], real men do it, men who don’t are just lazy."
