Jacqueline Jossa has given an explanation as to why she didn't hand over the crown to the new Queen of the Castle Giovanna Fletcher.

The 28 year old, who previously told OK! that she wouldn't be joining the winner in Wales but 'sends her love', took to her Instagram stories to update her 3.1million fans about the decision.

Wearing a red jumper, she told her followers: "I didn't get a chance to actually physically watch I'm A Celeb last night because we were rehearsing 'till 10 o'clock at night. But I was trying to have a sneaky look.

"I predicted from day one hashtag just sayin', that Gi was gonna win. I knew it."

The winner of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2019 went on to address why she didn't make her way down to Gwrych Castle in North Wales herself to hand over the crown as per tradition.

Jacqueline, who is one of the stars who experienced the most dramatic weight loss from being on the show, said: "People are asking me why I didn't go and hand the crown over.

"A couple of reasons. One, we are rehearsing for a West End musical and I literally don't have time to go to Wales and back. Also we are going through a pandemic so it's not like the best idea ever to do that anyway."

The former EastEnders star's absence meant runner up Vernon Kay, 46, was left with the task of presenting 35 year old Giovanna with the crown.

Seemingly pleased by the outcome, Jacqueline continued: "And it's all socially distanced and I think it worked really well how it worked with Vernon.

"However in different circumstances I would obviously have loved to have handed it over to Gi. I really wanted it to be her from day one. Actually I should've put a bet on it, I'm absolutely gutted that I didn't. Fury!

"Anyway, well done to the Queen of the Castle! You know what it was so different this year but I kind of think it was needed to be a little different. Ant and Dec were on top form, they were so funny.

"I think visually it looked amazing. It looked quite grand and beautiful.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they did two a year, or would that be too much?

"They could do the castle in the warmer months and they could do Australia in the jungle in November. Or would that be too much? "

"It would be a shame to get rid of it but then it would also be a shame to get rid of the jungle," she added.
